Hello there! I’m María Paula Fernández (MP for short), from Buenos Aires, Argentina, living in Berlin, Germany since 2013. I’m an entrepreneur, strategist, writer and curator focused on crypto.
I’m the co-founder at JPG, a start-up that focused on building cultural infrastructure for NFTs. After 2.5 years of building and growing a vibrant community, we’re currently winding down the organization. It’s been an amazing ride, full of satisfactions.
I am also the founder of Department of Decentralization / ETHBerlin (founded in 2018), an NGO created to further the education in crypto tech and our community’s values. While I am no longer managing the NGO, I am still an active contributor.
Before that, I had been working in the blockchain space since June 2017, in communications, strategy, operations and have consulted or worked for projects such as Polkadot, Gnosis, Melonport, Ethereum Community Fund, Golem, Akropolis, Concourse Open, Avalanche, and other grassroots and established projects on the Ethereum ecosystem.
For me, like for most Latin Americans, crypto is life-saving technology and essential to survive and thrive by giving us back control of our systems and finances. I’m here to stay and constantly energized by this industry.
Additionally:
Sometimes writer - here’s my article on the history of curation, moderation, online communities and JPG, and here and here are two articles I worked on for Right Click Save. I’ve recently become a Forbes contributor too, and I contribute to Spike Magazine on the topics of Web3 and AI. I’m also writing for an NFT book by Taschen and the CryptoPunks Book.
I also have a Substack where I discuss a lot of things - will be reviving it in the coming month.
